アンコール・トム　Angkor Ｔｈｏｍ

クメール帝国の中心にあった巨大都市。ジャヤヴァルマン7世により、12-13世紀に造られたとされる。そのスケール、バイヨン寺院にあるクメールの微笑みに代表される仏教への思い、当時の生活を表した浮き彫り、軍を謁見したと言われる象のテラス等、見所はつきない。

Angkor Thom meant " Great City" and was the center of the Khmer Empire. This city was built in the 12-13th century by King Jayavarman 7. It is unforgetable area because of its religious (Buddhism) monument which is represented by the famous "smile of Angkor" of Bayon temple, the intersting relief which shows thier daily life, the great Terrace where King Jayavaruman 7 looked at the military parades leaded by elephants.

	アンコールトムの入り口、南大門。塔は、巨大な四面塔。欄干は、神々と阿修羅が綱引きをするデザイン。 The gopura "South Gate" crowned with four heads. At the causeway, Gods and Demons have a tug of war.
	バイヨン寺院。12世紀から１３世紀にかけて作られた仏教寺院。無数の仏頭が見える。 Bayon. This Buddhist temple was built from 12th to 13th century. There are countless large faces.
	有名な”クメールの微笑み”。不思議な表情である。 The famous "Smile of Angkor". It's mysterious.
	バイヨンの浮き彫りのひとつ。お祭りの準備をしているところ。戦争の様子、生活の様子等、興味深い浮き彫りが並ぶ。 One of relief of Bayon, It looks like a preparation for the festival. There are many interesting reliefs which are showing the wars and life style.
	バプーオン。11世紀に造られた寺院で、現在フランスチームが修復中。空中参道がユニーク。 Baphuon. This was built in the 11th century. Now it is under repairment by France Team. The long elevated eastern approach is very unique.
	ピミアナカス。11世紀に建設された寺院。頂上まで、上ることもできる。 Phimeanakas. This was built in the 11 the century. We can climb to the top of the temple.
	象のテラス。300ｍ続くテラスで、ガルーダや、象の彫刻が並ぶ。 Terrace of Elephants. The length of the terrace is 300m, and there are many sculptures or reliefs of Garuda and Elephants.
	プラサット・スゥル・プラット。象のテラスの正面にある王宮前広場に並ぶ12の塔。綱渡りの塔とも呼ばれる。 Prasat Suor Prat. These 12 towers are in the open area in front of the terrace of elephants. They are also called as ropewalking towers.
	ライ王のテラス。12世紀に作られた。様々な彫刻を見ることができる。 Terrace of Leper King. This was built in the 12th century. We can see many interesting reliefs.
	ライ王のテラスの彫刻。神々、阿修羅、動物等、所狭しと掘り込まれている。 Reliefs of Terrace of Leper King. There are many interesting relifs such as Gods, Demons, Animals etc..
