プノン・バケン　Phnom Bakheng

プノン・バケン山は、アンコール３聖山の一つと言われているが、ジャングルに佇むアンコール・ワットの他、アンコール全体が見渡せるため、人気が高い。夕方には、多くの人が、夕陽と西日に映えるアンコール・ワットを見に集まる。象でも上れる。象に乗ったことがない人にはお勧め。遺跡としては、9世紀にヤショーヴァルマン1世が建造したもので、比較的古い。

Mt．Phnom Bakheng is said a one of 3 sacred mountains in Angkor. It is very popular because once we are on the top of the mountain we can enjoy a view of Angkor Wat in huge jungles and all over the Angkor. Toward the evening many people come here to enjoy the view of Angkor Wat in the sunset and the sunset itself. The slope to the top of the summit is rather steep but we can ride an elephant if we like. It is also thrilling and a fun. Phnom Bakheng was built by Yasovarman 1 in the 9th century. This is sometimes called the " first Angkor ".

	プノン・バケン山全景（高さ60m）。この山の上に寺院がある。プノン・バケンに登るには、歩く方法と象を使う方法がある。 Phnom Bakheng ( 60m high ). At the top of the hill there is temple of Phnom Bakeheng. We can walk or ride on the elephant.
	象で登るのは、当地の物価から考えると高いが、いい経験にはなる。象使いがいろいろ身の上話（苦労話）をしてくれるが、背中にチップを入れるポケットが縫い付けてあるのには、びっくり。 Elphant ride is a little expensive but it's fun. Driver? might tell you about his tough life, and you will be suprised when you find the pocket for tip at driver's back.
	プノン・バケンの階段は、急かつ狭い。脇から登る手もある。 The steps to Phnom Bakheng are steep and narrow. We can climb from the side.
	アンコール遺跡群の中で一番高いところにある祠堂。 This is the highest temple in Angkor.
	デバター像も残る。9世紀末に作られた比較的古い物である。 We can see devata. This was made in the 9th century and relatively old.
	周りは一面のジャングル。僧侶も感無量。 This temple is surrounded by jungle, and these 3 monks are also impressed very much.
	夕日に染まるアンコール・ワットが見れる。すごすぎる。 We can see the Angkor Wat shining in the sunset from Phnom Bakheng. Unbelievable.
	３聖山のひとつのプノン・クロム。その先にトンレサップ湖がある。 Phnom Krom which is 1 of 3 sacred mountains in Angkor. Lake Tonle Sap is beyond the Phnom Krom.
	プノン・ボックとその奥のプノーン・クレーン丘陵。アンコールの寺院の石はプノーン・クレーンから運んだというからすごい。今も修復のために石を運んでいる。 Phnom Boc ( front ) and Phnom Klen ( back ).　It is amazing because materials of Angkor temples were carried from Phnom Klen. Still we use the rocks of Phnom Klen for the repairment.
	プノン・バケンから見下ろしたところ。かなり急である。この先から山を下ることになる。 Look down from the temple of Phnom Bakheng. It's very steep. We need to come down from the hill further.
